Rather than having to restyle my main characters every time I use them in a scene, I keep template files of them in which they’re wearing their “everyday” clothing, and which also contain whatever accessories they might normally have with them. So the near-duplicates are going to be sifted through and thrown out, and the final versions will be numbered and renamed, then tagged and filed so that it’s possible to find things without having to open five or ten files to locate what I’m looking for.Īs part of this reorganization, some files that were made with older versions of Daz’s Genesis characters are going to have to be reposed with the newer versions. I did a count last week and found that I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 45,000 files in the computer–many of these “process” files with only slight changes from one to the next. Notes: I’m currently starting what’s going to be the long and arduous process of reorganizing all my digital art files with a more logical naming and classification structure than what I’ve been using to date.
